Phonocast 10 – The Black Madonna

Drawing on a deep knowledge and passion for the roots of house and techno music, Chicago and abroad, The Black Madonna presented yet another of her skillful and adventurous DJ sets.  Connecting the dots from The B-52s and Sly & The Family Stone to Common Factor and Telex, it was as much an exploration into her collection as a jam session, and as is becoming a bit of a tradition on Phonologue, there are some obscure gems in the set. This 90 minute set was recorded live at Gramaphone in Chicago on the evening of Tuesday, August 21st.
