Sound Stream – Julie’s Theme 12″ – Sound Stream

Ever in-demand, Soundstream 12″s have landed at Gramaphone direct from Germany. While he never re-invents the wheel with his disco re-edits and re-constructions, they are clean and distinctive and retaining a ring of authenticity.

Julie’s Theme has the dry stompy chops of the early Soundhack project, combined with the energetic tweaky processing of the more recent Soundsampler 12″s, with a subtly emotive underlying chord barely emerging. On the flip, Inferno is head-on disco-loop, taking a full phrase and milking the dramatic strings and stabs for a retro payoff.
