Queen! @ Smartbar Sunday January 12th 2014

If you don’t make it out to Queen! this weekend, you’re missing one of the most influential house music producers of all time. Chez Damier aka Anthony Pearson will be joining Michael Serafini and Garrett David on Sunday at 10 PM for a late night of dancing.

Veterans, rookies, and everyone in between respects Damier for his technical prowess and business savvy. The “I Never Knew Love” mix put him back on the radar after having played a key role in KMS, the Music Institute, and the Belleville Three of Detroit. A Chicago native, Damier is innovative: he and Ron Trent created Prescription Records; they also created Morning Factory, another minimal DIY golden nugget.

Since splitting with Ron Trent, Chez Damier released classic house music tracks on Balance Alliance and Mojuba Records with James Barnsley, Supernova, MK, and more. Though he appreciates the classics, he stated in an interview with 5 Magazine that “We need to make new classics. Not play–make”. This is your chance to hear history in the making. Tickets are $7 all night and the show is free before midnight. Smartbar is located at 3730 N. Clark St.
