Inhalt – Occupations EP 12″ – Dark Entries
Matia Simovich, Philip Winiger and Bryan Gibbs make up the San Francisco based synthpop band Inhalt. Occupations is the group’s sophomore EP on Josh Cheon’s label, Dark Entries.
Though Inhalt favors sonic fidelity over nostalgia, various influences can be heard throughout. The record is speckled with touches of new wave a la Depeche Mode, Gary Numan, as well as Moroder and Kraftwerk elements, yet to all this Inhalt manages to add a personal touch. Winiger’s vocals are supported by analog drums and an intricate web of synths and pads. The EP is well mixed and well worth a listen.
