Primitive Sci-Fi – PSCF2 12″ – Clear
New Chicago label, not to be confused with the seminal UK 1990s leftfield / electro imprint, launches here with a two-tracker of stripped-back acid-house. PSCF2A is the uptempo of the two, with a straight four-to-the-floor drum loop and gradually modulating acid basslines. PSCF2B is a little slower and more spaced out, but just as persistent.
The whole record has a dry and rawer-than-raw approach that is a purposeful nod to a bygone era, the monochrome ASCII label art reinforces this effect.
