S.A.M. – 004 12″ – Delaphine
Samuel Andre Madsen’s self-released Delaphine records are a space for him to explore his influences and inclinations without expectation, which sometimes leads down some dark alleys. This time, it’s a drive down the main strip.
The A Side track has a bounce to it that would do the Persuader and Thomas Melchior proud, it’s a subtly updated twist on the dry tech-house sound. On the flip, the drums are reduced to a gurgle and the lulling atmosphere takes up a lot more attention, but the straightforward drums and rolling bassline keep a submerged propulsion throughout.
These don’t hang about long so if you’re curious to check it out, try sooner rather than later.
