Anunnaki’s first full-length offering is the debut album of Amir Alexander. As a Chicago ex-patriot, his uptempo sound shows shades of Tevo Howard & Hakim Murphy in its raw acid underpinnings, but with shades of melodic colour and shading beyond the bold, colourful, 8th note synth lines.

Alexander also takes advantage of the full-length format to experiment with tempo and style, as show in the incorporation of vocals on A Virtuous Woman, Nordisk Saga, Tranquility Base, and The Blues.

Overall, it’s an ambitious full-length from an artist better known for blistering acid DJ sets and moody house productions.
