Seegweed – Seegweed Edits 12″ – Gamm
Here are some disco edits, part four in the series G.A.M.M. Enterprises Inc by Seegweed (although it seems they lost count after the first two.) The three edits here are sophisticated and seamless, wrapping the R&B, soul, and gospel originals around ornately orchestrated disco productions.
The tunes come together as if they were originally intended that way, the full vocals and structures intact, sometimes arguably enhanced, and certainly more adapted for the house music DJ set. So in a way, they’re fresh takes but with a completely classic, throwback atmosphere, blurring the lines of authenticity and maybe offering a little curveball for the trainspotters and crate diggers in the audience.
