Dauwd – Theory Of Colours LP – Technicolour
Kompakt recording artist Dauwd appears on Ninja Tune’s Technicolour sub-label for the first time here, on the occasion of his first full-length album.
It’s an opulent take on deep house, one that hearkens back to Truby Trio with its slowly developing composition and elaborately layered instrumentation. There’s some variety of moods and tempos, but no rough edges. While the album mostly it centers around light uptempo grooves, Murmure and the title track offer fully-rendered leftfield excursions.
For fans of Horror Inc’s Briefly Eternal, this might be a nice addition to the collection.
