2AMFM – untitled 12″ – Secret Studios
Fat, full-on, rumbling acid techno sounds from 2AMFM. The dazzling duo are D’Marc Cantu and Tadd Mullinix (JTC). Since surfacing on Spectral Sound in 2005, they’ve been delivering similarly roots techno assaults sporadically across the world, on imprints like Dope Jams, M>O>S, Nation, and Creme Organization. Here they appear on the Californian Secret Studios imprint.
The a-side sounds like a Snuff Crew acid workout. The b-side is dominated by resounding strings, elevated above machine-gun percussion. Both are driving tunes and smudge the fingerprints of the individual contributors.
